Instead I learned many of the same old heard-but-not-applied things. Good things that I need to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Model diligence and then train the children in it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Prioritize and live by those priorities.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This will mean letting some "good" things go, in favor of "better" things.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Know your children and really invest in them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Family worship needs to be a priority.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Always the romantic, I am often thinking I am willing to sacrifice all for Christ, to die for Christ ... but I am usually unwilling, at any given moment, to put aside my selfish comforts and indulgences. If I want to truly be used for Christ, I need to be willing to be uncomfortable for Him, as well as die for Him.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I need to make sure our family is investing in 'real life' friendships.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My internet time really needs to be reined in, pared down, brought under control.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Three blogs is too many.</description><comments>http://kiminmi.xanga.com/481702784/its-always-the-same-its-just-a-shame-thats-all/#firstcomment</comments></item><item><title>Gonna use my fingers</title><link>http://kiminmi.xanga.com/481155265/gonna-use-my-fingers/</link><guid>http://kiminmi.xanga.com/481155265/gonna-use-my-fingers/</guid><pubDate>Fri, 05 May 2006 16:28:05 GMT</pubDate><description>so I had to wait over an hour to see the doc, which meant the PT was busy, and had to leave after the appt she was currently on, so I got my silicone sleeve to help heal but didn't get to see the PT -- so I'm feeling stuck in limbo, doc says to get the fingers moving, get the stiffness, edema worked out, but then I'm supposed to still be cautious &amp; gentle, no lifting, grasping, twisting.  Stop if it hurts, but get things moving ... I confess I'm afraid to move wrong and do damage.  So ... we'll see.  The PT lady did say I could wear my old splint as a reminder to be careful, since I'll be running around at the conference ... but I'm not sure how much to baby it vs. get it moving.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, homeschooling conference!  We're leaving soon! Tomorrow I get my splint off and try out my hand on it's own.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I haven't done much in getting the guest room ready this week. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Baby Buzz woke half-up and fussed in his sleep all last night. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Haven't walked yet, but I plan to do 2 miles.  Did I tell you that, walking out in the neighborhood and using mapmyrun.com I've confirmed that I walk "farther" with Leslie than I could in real life? Meaning my little short stubble legs, walking as brisk as they can, don't cover as much ground as Leslie's steps average.  If I were to take her beat and walk down the road, sans children, and take a step per beat, I wouldn't go as far as the walk says, because of my short little stride.  So now I sort of feel like an accidental cheater.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway.  Robin ~ no, I don't really know how to knit.  I did my scarf on a Knifty Knittter hoop.  I do, technically, sort of know how to knit. Or purl. Not both. LOL. But I've never produced anything useful (or tried) on knitting needles. I'm still behind several reviews, too.  Not to mention laundry and unit studies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yesterday I walked the walk-jog (2.5 miles) and then a family walk in the evening (1.79 miles) - I should've just gone 'round the 1.2 mile block again, because I dislike that .79 hanging out there ... I guess I could do it today? I need to walk-jog again today to round out the hanging half miles. I don't know why I'm obsessed with round numbers.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I better finish my coffee and get walking, and get a good list of things to do this week, we're having guests in a week (Hi Linda and Bindi!!) and I need to get the clothing size/season swap out of Linda's room. I don't get my splint off until Friday, and we'll be gone Friday and Saturday, so I really should get busy!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;... and I want to get some prints from Flickr of a few of my squill photos and maybe frame them. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So ... off I go.  I'll update after I walk.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;**post walk **&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I blew it, as far as round numbers go -- after our 2.5 mile walk/jog today and the 1.75 mile walk last night my *yearly* tally is 199.75!! Just guess!  I did a Rosey Double Whammy! Or something.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First I walked the walk-jog (in which I fast walk along with MaryKay) and at the end sent The Girl outside with The Baby, freeing me to do another mile ... but when I was thinking which one would be fun to do, I thought of my 4 mile express!  Yes!  That one is sooo fun!  So I did it! 2.5 for walk-jog and then a 4 mile "bonus" !!! It was fun.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Unfortunately, someone brought us a great meal (because of me bum hand) and it included DORITOS, which are my FLAVORITE.  I did try hard to eat healthy, I had just one handful ... then  a few more on a lettuce-and-salsa taco salad ... an then cleaning up dinner I realized there was only one sad crushed serving left -- not enough to save ... &lt;i&gt;someone&lt;/i&gt; had to finish it ... but that added up to 3 servings, plus a piece of cake ... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;so although the flex points give me enough *flex* that I haven't blown it for the week, I did eat something like 10 extra points on and beyond the 5 exercise points I earned.  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The scariest part is they gave us TWO bags of Doritos, so there's another whole bag in the house!
